He started with the piano, but after 4 years his parents lead him to drums. Thanks to that, Kuba Ryba chose him for the band. Together they founded Rybi\u010dky 48 and this year they are celebrating the band’s age of adulthood. In our interview, he revealed how Ondra had it with his practice, who influenced him the most musically or which songs from Rybi\u010dky he likes to play the most.<\/em><\/p>\n

How did you get into the drumming?<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is more of a question for my parents. \ud83d\ude42 From the age of 6 I had to play the piano and at the age of 10 I showed a strong sense of rhythm, so my parents registered me in drums. I’m not one of those people who saw a video somewhere as child and fought for their parents to play the instrument at all costs. That’s how it looked on me in music class. I didn’t practice for another 10 years. It wasn’t until I was 20 that I really started.<\/p>\n

How long did it take you start drumming for Rybi\u010dky 48 and what was before that?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It took me 6 years with Rybi\u010dky. I started in the band at the age of 16 and I am its founding member. So I didn’t take much. \ud83d\ude42 Kuba Ryba chose me himself. This year we will be celebrating 18 years. From this I can also calculate my age . \ud83d\ude42 Before Rybi\u010dky there were some experiments with classmates in school and also a death metal band Agarwean. But the more I played with Rybi\u010dky, I couldn’t combine much. One year we had 120 concerts. And it was only on weekends.<\/p>\n

In which bands do you still play?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don’t play in any other band. \ud83d\ude42 I only played in the death metal band Agarwean, but that was 15 years ago. Otherwise, I was a guest in Ben Cristova band when he was the support band for Pitbull. I recorded drums for the rap part MAAT. I did a drum show with Maty\u00e1\u0161 Vorda (ex-Mandrage) and with Martin Boky Bock (Kashmir, Trouble Gang etc.)<\/p>\n

How did you learn about TRX cymbals?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I first saw TRX cymbals on Cobus youtube channel. And even then I was very interested. And when Jarda called me from TRX cymbals, I was thrilled!<\/p>\n

What you enjoy about TRX cymbals?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I enjoy the sound and endurance of cymbals. It’s like playing velvet.<\/p>\n

Why did you reach for a series of TRX ICE cymbals.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jarda Siv\u00e1k chose them for me when he saw me play. Mainly because it’s more sheet metal. When playing live, it’s a visual for me, that’s why I hit it a lot on the edge of cymbals. I also crash ride, so I mainly need solid cymbals. TRX ICE certainly is.<\/p>\n

How do you choose cymbals for live performance and how do you choose for the studio?<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the sound.<\/p>\n

Which of your song do you enjoy the most from behind the drums and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Can\u2019t say. I like punk rock songs more. Emily and OOOU.<\/p>\n

Guitarist like to brag about effect pedals, what would you brag about from your gear?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have nothing to be proud of. The only interesting thing about me may be that I don’t play the click, but the beat. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Do you have or did you have a drummer role model?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Travis Barker, Flo Mournier, Gene Hoglan, Richard Cristy, etc. Everyone I can learn from is a role model and motivation for me, so thousands and thousands of drummers.<\/p>\n

Do you have any dream piece of equipment?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Everything I have dreamed of, I have now \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Dispute: do you play the small drum over the rim or directly on the membrane?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I play snare mostly over the rim. But what is this dispute? 1000 people, 1000 ways. Everyone follows a path and sometimes needs to be combined.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
